For Friday

Outside my window…it is raining... again. Or I should say still

I am thinking… about how exhausted I am. I decided to commute from home to work today, which meant getting up at 3:30 AM leaving the house by 3:45, making it to work by 4:55. Worked until 4:55-12:40 and commute back home. PHEW

I am thankful for… a welcoming place/someone to come home to.

From the kitchen… I can see that I totally destroyed C's cleaning job.

I am wearing… sweatpants and C's sweatshirt.

I am creating… quite a few lists, I love making lists and calendars, I always have several going.

I am going… to try really hard to actually get some sleep tonight.

I am reading… The Percy Jackson series, also Finding Your Element

I am hoping… that I don't kill anyone with this outrageous mood i have going on right now. Hey I got no sleep, back off!

I am hearing…C singing while cooking. brilliant.

Around the house… the day is winding down

One of my favorite things… is nap time!

A few plans for the rest of the week.. cleaning out the bedrooms and organizing clothes for our vacation.

OxyCodone why can't you be my friend?

I had surgery on my right foot yesterday to have an ingrown toenail removed (lovely I know!) And of course I am missing the most gorgeous three day weekend in Washington! The best part was the heating blanket that they give you pre-op that has hot air blown in to it. [ Inserting awful picture here]

Now I have a history of doing awful with surgeries, doesn't matter what it is I will end up sick. They gave me a low dose oxycodone to take as my pain medication and boy did it take me for a ride. Nauseous, dizzy, falling asleep in an instant, ect. Then woke up this morning, ate and BAM! barfing for the next couple of hours. No fun. Oh and C. is at work all weekend, including yesterday. Thank God my family is only an hour away and my madre could come and take me to my surgery! But still, C. had surgery on his nose so he could breathe and I put everything on hold to take care of him and I'm stuck home alone barfing the contents of my stomach out. It makes me worry as to what we'll do if we don't live in Washington State anymore. Oh well.
Thursday night we stayed up till the wee hours to fix C's class A's. He had to have it taken out ( he's getting 70's Big!) and so we have to put all the insignia back on to it because he is the pall bearer (?) at a service on post on Monday. I have never seen this done, have no idea how to do it and watched (openly smirking) as C. struggled to measure and place everything just perfect. Needless to say it took awhile. I think I'll pass on learning how to do this! Monday is a busy day: Memorial service and change of command  two very new things for me! I'm already going stir crazy, no training, no driving, just me sitting at  home alone!

Making Things Anew...

This weekend was really boring. I worked all weekend and C. taught and then went to Robb Wolf's nutrition seminar. We are back to doing the no dairy, no grains at all test to see if it helps me out. So I am trying to keep myself busy so that I don't miss my butter and cheese too much. I really, really love decorating. I don't have a flair for it like some but nonetheless I love it! I had to go to pay my ticket this morning and ended up driving around to the various stores for about an hour.I still cannot find the frickin vinyl letters that I wanted so much, might have to order them. So I went and picked up some spray paint and some cute vinyl stickers and ended up redoing our cheepo lamps that were 2/$10 at Fred Meyers and our knife block. I ended up picking up a wine rack and some candle holders to redo from Goodwill as well. Between watching Army wives and Housewives of NYC and killing brain cells I think most of it turned out pretty well... I tried doing House of Hepworth's soap bottle dispener project but it didn't turn out like I wanted so I will redo another some other time, until that time we have a black soap bottle. :{ I really recommend wearing a pair of gloves when using spray paint and a mask, unless you like having colored hands and paint in your nose.

Here are the links to give credit due!

I'm starting this cloche (which is what the candle holder is for and the dome plate)

It is her Sunday April 4 post.

I am also looking forward to doing the letter frame (picture 1) which I spotted over at Household Sapper. I bought C. and I's name initials and plan to hang it between our baby photos.

I have a lot of great goodwill finds that I just need to find the time to redo. Our apartment is so small and while I can't paint the walls I'm trying to be creative.
Anyways now off to clean up the mess I made!

I am what I am and, you know, I'm a very lucky girl....

Everyone is always reminding me how lucky I am. I don't acknowledge it often enough but I truly am. I have little worries except school and the hefty bill that I have accrued going to a private institution ( trust me its like jail :) ) But other than that C. really, really takes care of me. I have a roof over my head, I'm spoiled rotten and all my meals are provided (gourmet style to boot!) What more could a girl want? It's nice not having to think every night about what I am going to make for dinner, especially when some nights I'm not getting home until 10 PM from lifting. I have even gotten him to chip in with cleaning up after himself ( the 10 min. rule everyday has worked wonders). We are coming up on our "1 year anniversary" and I certainly NEVER thought I would find someone who actually treated me as I deserved to be treated.
It has definitely become apparent especially now that by this time next year I will be living at home again and C. will be living at Fort Sam Houston, Texas going to school. While, it will only be about a year at Fort Sam for OT school, we don't yet know where he will be going to after that nor have we decided if I will transfer with him at that time. I have goals here in Washington state and he has his own goals. I'm reminded daily that I need to enjoy this time while I have it!
